Need to Redo your Kitchen?

One of the key rooms of any house is the kitchen. Many people who move into an older home often like to do renovations, however, in most cases, the first room to be renovated is the kitchen. Why are kitchen renovations so important? Well, think about the kitchen as the central hub of your home. Everything happens in the kitchen. Food is prepared, not only for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but also for parties and other celebrations. For those of you who have children, you know very well that the kitchen is the place where you spend much of that quality time with your children. Whether it’s baking cookies and cake for the holidays or whether its preparing school or fun projects, you spend lots of time in the kitchen.

There are all kinds of different styles for kitchen renovations to choose from, and much of it also depends on the size of your kitchen also.

Kitchen Renovations and Planning Permissions

As far as planning permission is concerned, there are really no requirements for planning permission for kitchen renovations in many Irish communities unless you plan to do some serious changes to the outer structure of the house itself. You may need planning permission for electrical and gas upgrades. If we do your kitchen renovations, you won’t need to worry about planning permission because we take care of all of that. One of the great kitchen designs that have become quite popular are kitchen islands. A kitchen island is when you have a free standing countertop in the middle of the kitchen which has a cooktop and possibly a sink together with a whole prep area. This can be a big space saver in the kitchen and allows the wall space in the kitchen for larger appliances, such as ovens, refrigerators, and large pantry cabinets. Though many kitchen renovations can allow for an island to be constructed, but for some smaller kitchens, this might require some work. Some people have done some unique kitchen renovations where the too small kitchen was converted into a nice large pantry and the kitchen was then incorporated into a larger room with an island. This can create a whole new atmosphere in the home and allows the kitchen to flow with the formal dining space.

This can also be great because it allows for the free movement of food coming fresh out of the oven onto the dinner table, and thus the person doing all the cooking does not have to be away from the house guests when preparing the food.
